The Wisconsin Stone Quality of Life questionnaire (WISQOL) is a disease-specific health-related quality of life (HRQOL) instrument designed to assess the impact on patients of stones in the urinary tract (urolithiasis).
WISQOL is the only disease-specific instrument that assesses the symptomatic and functional impact of stones.
Although urolithiasis has long been associated with bothersome symptoms, severe pain, emergency and urgent care encounters, reduced productivity, sleep interruptions, increased financial burden, and interruptions to the performance of daily activities, a disease-specific instrument to assess the symptomatic and functional impact of stones has never been developed. The WISQOL is thus the only such instrument in existence.
